I got my invite to Metaplace today. I did their 2 minute registration and after some clicking around on the website (How the heck do you actually get *into* the world, I said to myself!) I managed to start the process of logging in. They must be very busy today because I failed on several login attempts. What I wanted to say, however; the reason for this blog posting, is that on the “Go” page where they feature the various worlds you can enter there was one called Antfarm Redux! For a moment, I was like, wow these guys really know how to make you feel at home. It was a coincidence of course. I can’t wait for the login queue to settle down so I can go play Antfarm Redux!

Haha, I had no idea they already had one called Antfarm Redux. That’s kinda awesome. I’m in there as Satan, though I’ll admit I haven’t been on much lately.
BTW, my whole logic doctrine thing is based on quantum physics.
You really should have had any trouble logging in. Could you submit a support ticket for that?
Ant Farm Redux is a puzzle game.
Hi Raph! Wow, talk about due diligence! I am even more impressed. Anyway, the problem is in the Linux version of Flash 10. I tried it in Flash 10 on an XP machine and like I said, it was clunky, but I am now satisfied the clunkyness is due to the age and general crapitude of that laptop. Stalling, jittering, unresponsive UI. That has to be on my end or someone else would have been complaining about it. I found a bug report on the Adobe jira concerning linux, flash 10 and Metaplace.
Hey, not only do they have a game called Antfarm Redux there is also a world called Antfarm Rising which is the name I use for my “endeavours” in SL. It was also the name of my first SL related blog which I terminated and restarted under the Redux name. Anyhoo, I can’t log in to Metaplace from this laptop because there is a bug in the linux flash player. I tried on an older XP computer and got past the loading world screen but was soon disconnected when the world server went down. On the whole, not a very rewarding experience. I like a lot of things about Metaplace so I hope it does well but at the moment I feel somewhat underwhelmed.
Hey, Ichabod, check out my latest blog post. I want to engage in some discourse with you on it. The philosophical implications are ASTOUNDING!
On the subject of Metaplace, the system has a lot of potential. It has a very robust scripting language and it will eventually be 3d. Of course, there are obviously still some bugs but I am excited about it nonetheless.
Satan, I’ll stop by for sure, I’ve been following the talk on the Herald but haven’t said anything there for reasons I’ve talked about before. Today is the day we Canadians celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday so it’s a day off and the sun is shining and the weather is nice and it’s my friend’s birthday also so I’m off to have lunch with him.
Cheerio!
